Mineral Make-Up Application Tips
We've had quite requests for advice on applying mineral makeup from new customers. The application of Mineral Makeup is just as important as the products themselves. The right brush is an absolute necessity when applying loose mineral makeup. Don't use your fingers, as this can result in the use of too much makeup, which will be difficult to spread and may stick in all of the wrong places.
Here are some tips on applying our loose minerals and which brushes to use:
Eyes
Mineral Eye Shadow can be used wet or dry. Fluff brushes will give an overall sweep of color, with long bristles. Shorter bristles give more control over where the powder is going. Another good tip is to use a Concealer Stick on the eyelid as a base to give the Eye Shadow something to adhere to.
An Eye Liner brush, dipped in water and then the pigment, works like a wet liner. Tap a bit of powder into the turned over lid of the eye shadow, and swirl the wet liner brush around like a paint brush. Creates a beautiful line that will not smudge. Our Staff has been having fun trying this technique with the lighter colors such as Fool's Gold, Lime Shimmer and White Hilite lately!
Cheeks
To apply Powder Blush or Natural Flush Mineral Blush, press the head of a Kabuki, or Flat Top Brush directly against the holes of the sifter, tip the whole unit upside down, tap the jar a bit, and then lift the brush off of the sifter. There should be a light dusting of powder on the brush head, and that amount is sufficient to cover at least one cheek, if not both. You can always add more, so start with less.
