Goodby Summer, Hello Savings!

Happy Labor Day!  HOORAY for long holiday weekends!

Let's have a sale!  How about an extra 10% off your entire purchase?  Use Code LABOR DAY from Sept. 2nd to Tues. Sept. 6th during checkout.  Place as many orders as you want.  Not valid on clearance items, samples and gift certificates, sorry.

Emergency Weather Conditions

Last month was quite remarkable.  We are proud to say that no earthquake, hurricane or power outage will keep us from our daily production schedule!  Happily, other than packaging tossed off the shelves by the earthquake and fallen branches from Hurrican Irene, our studio was unaffected.

We can't fix the weather, but we can help a little if you need to replace ruined makeup. The holiday sale offers something lighthearted  for those of you affected by the storms, and in fairness any one who was fortunate to be out of harms way.

Thanks to the many customers who sent e-mails and well wishes!

Beauty Industry News

Will you be at Natural Products Expo East?  It is a Trade Show at the Baltimore Convention Center on Sept. 22-24.  Lots of enthusiastic people into healthy living, eating and learning.   We're already set to meet with a buyer for a natural market up in NYC's Greenwich Village.

It would be great to meet face-to-face!  If you are going to be at the conference, email Linda at to see if we can set up a quick get together.

Product News

Zosimos always takes its customer suggestions to heart.  Let's face it, people are impatient and want to get their packages sooner rather than later.

Soap and candles require days of curing before shipping.  Since we begin creating soap or candles upon order, they delay fulfillment and shipping.  We've decided to let that business go to companies that specialize in creating only soap and candles.  They usually make larger batches continuously to have stock immediately available for shipping.   Once the labels and packaging we have in stock are depleted, only custom bulk orders (such as candles for wedding favors) will be considered.  Come get 'em while supplies last!!

We also got feedback about the use of Shower Gel.   After figuring out which scents they like best, Shower Gel is used generously, so 16 oz. lasts longer and is more economical.  To keep the line relevant, the 8 oz. size is being phased out.  Shower gel will still be offered in both the 2 oz. travel and 16 oz. sizes.

Interested in a set of products not currently offered together?  Let us know!

Honoring 9/11

This year is the 10th anniversay of the September 11th attacks.

We encourage you to post your experiences from that harrowing day on our Facebook page.  Linda will be posting her story, as she was working several blocks from the White House at the time.  It will be in the Conversations section, not the Wall.

Pesticide Guide

Back to school time often means packing healthy lunches.  The Environmental Working Group, where we donate our annual 1% for the Planet contribution, created a shopper's guide to pesticides.

The highest offenders are the "Dirty Dozen".  Buy organic if you can.  Here they are, with the worst listed first:  peaches; apples; bell peppers; celery; nectarines; strawberries; cherries; kale; lettuce; imported grapes; carrots and pears.

You can feel good about buying the "Clean 15" with the lowest in pesticides.  This time the best is first:  onion; avocado; sweet corn; pineapple; mango; asparagus; kiwi; cabbage; eggplant; papaya; watermelon; broccoli; tomato and sweet potato.

There is a growing  trend towards bringing healthier offerings to school cafeterias!
